For 75 years, The Arc San Francisco has partnered with adults with developmental disabilities to expand access, opportunity, and belonging. Serving San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo counties, we work alongside our participants to break down barriers to inclusion and create communities where everyone has the support, choices, and opportunities they need to define success on their own terms.

People with developmental disabilities face lifelong barriers to inclusion in education, employment, housing, healthcare, and community life. At The Arc San Francisco, we stand alongside our participants and take action to create change, led by the voices and lived experiences of people with developmental disabilities.

The Meaning Behind our Name:
Our full name is The Arc San Francisco, and the 'arc' represents the journey of self-determination. With the right support and opportunities, people with developmental disabilities can reach their highest potential, achieve their personal goals, and define lifelong success on their own terms.
Guided by Community
The Arc San Francisco is more than a service provider. We are a community of participants, families, staff, advocates, volunteers, and partners working together to build a more inclusive world.
We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and guided by our executive leadership team and Client Advisory Committee (CAC), ensuring that the voices and lived experiences of people with developmental disabilities remain at the center of our work every day.
